No shade to sunflowers, they are a beautiful and classic fall wedding staple for a reason. However, they can be a bit expected and dare I say predictable in a fall wedding. Often dominating the arrangements they inhabit, predetermining your colour schemes, all whilst screaming "It's FALL, y'all!" from October rooftops.
Today I would like to bring subtlety to your autumn florals. Flowers that whisper that the season of golden hours, crisp air and deathcab soundtracks has finally arrived.

Amaranthus
Textured and dramatic - Amaranthus drapes and spills out of bouquets, arches and tall urn arrangements with such romance that you will think you are in a Nora Ephron film.

Dahlia
An attention stealing focal flower - Dahlias are similar in size to a sunflower delivering that WOW factor. Available in blushy neutrals as seen above, to vibrant oranges, reds, purples and even buttery yellows. Making it a worthy opponent to the aforementioned sunflower.

Anemone
Petite and delicate - Anemone petals are thinly layered, almost paper-like, contrasting from their dark strong centers. This juxtaposition echoes that of the sunflower without overpowering its neighboring blooms.

Astilbe
Feathery and wispy - Astilbe is a stunning filler flower to add charm to your florals. Sweetly scented and available in whites, pinks and reds. Leave the baby's breath with the sunflowers and upgrade to astilbe.

Zinnia
Cottagey and cute - Zinnia to me is the ultimate early fall flower. This bloom will delight passionate gardeners. From earthy neutrals to punchy vibrant hues, zinnias dazzle in any colour palette. Typically sourced from local flower farms like the sunflower, zinnia is an eco friendly bloom for a carbon footprint conscious wedding.
